Excapade ’11 – Symposium – Mechanical Engineering – Jan 28 – 29 – Park College of Engineering and Technology – Coimbatore

Technical Events:
1.Paper presentation:

• Maximum of 2 authors per paper
• Candidates should send their paper in soft copy to excapade11@gmail.com and also 2 hard copies with the CD to the address mentioned on or before 20 jan 2011.
• Spot entries are not allowed.

• Accepted papers will be intimated through their respective mail.id on or before 24.01.11.
• The presentation time is for 8 mins and queries for 2 mins for each paper.
• Selected candidates should bring their identity card at the time of presentation.
• Selected candidates should bring two hard copies and one soft copy of the paper at the time of presentation (MS Office 2003, 2007 format).

2.Project presentation

• Maximum of 4 persons in a team
• Candidates should send their abstract of project to excapade11@gmail.com and
• Spot entries are not allowed.
• Working model of project is must
• Participants are requested to bring power point presentation of their project.
• Selected projects will be intimated through their mail id on or before 24-1-11.
• Selected candidates should bring power point presentation in specified format

(MS Office 2003, 2007 format).
3.Cad quest:

• Spot entries are allowed.
• First round is prelims wit basic mechanical questions
• Shortlisted Participants will be given with a model designing. ( Auto cad and proe)
• 45 min will be given for designing.
• Best design will be selected in accordance with designing rules.

4.Industrial problem solving:

• Maximum of 2 persons in a team.
• Problem related with industry will be given.
• Spot entries is not allowed
  • Participants should send their solutions to excapade11 @gmail.com on or before 20-1-11.
  • Selected solutions will be intimated through their mail id on or before 24-1-11.

5. Technical debate:

• Spot entries are allowed.
• Advanced topics related to mechanical engineering ll be given.
• Participants are allowed to speak 6 min on their topic.
• Winner’s ll be selected according to stuff in their speech.

6. Auto quiz

• Spot entries are allowed.
• First round is prelims wit basic and advancement in automobiles.
• Short listed candidates will proceed to quiz.

Non-Technical events
Robo wars.

• Maximum of 4 persons in a team.
• Spot entries is allowed.
• Robo should be of full efficiency.
• Maximum time is 10 min.
• A platform will be provided for the war.
• Fittest robos ll be awarded.

Water rocketry.

• Maximum of 2 persons per team
• Spot entries are allowed.
• Launch platform and air compressor ll be provided.
• Maximum distance reaching rocket ll be awarded.

Lan gaming.

• Invidual and multi player gaming.
• Spot entries are allowed.
• Participants can play Games like counter strike, NFS and FIFA.
• Based on maximum points winners ll be selected.

Quick fit

• Participant’s ll be give with odd materials.
• Spot entries are allowed.
• Maximum time limit is30 min.
• Structure which satisfies criteria of building ll be awarded.
